Transfer Application Requirements

  • Minimum GPA:
    Transfer students should have earned a cumulative grade point average of approximately 2.5 on a 4.0 scale (3.0 preferred). Majors such as business, health science, nursing, general engineering, construction science, architecture,landscape architecture, performing arts, communication, sports communication, criminal justice, and education education majors are more competitive. Please go to the admissions website for current requirements.
  • Official Transcripts:
    Request final official transcript(s) to be sent from each college previously attended. Unofficial transcripts or grade reports are not accepted.
  • SAT Scores:
    SAT/ACT scores are not required for transfer students who have at least 30 semester hours of transferable credit after high school graduation. Test scores are necessary if you submit an application and have less than the 30 required semester hours.
  • Letters of Recommendation:
    Recommendation letters are not required.
  • Essay:
    An essay is not required.
  • Application Fee:
    $70.00 submitted with online application at www.clemson.edu.
  • Interview:
    Interviews are not required for admission. The admissions office is open from 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. 
  • Other Requirements:
    Freshman level math, science and English for your intended major is preferred.  A 3.0 minimum GPA and prerequisite courses are required for some majors. See transfer admissions website for most current requirements.
